Oticon Centre of Excellence for Hearing and Speech-Sciences (CHeSS)
The main goal is to develop a computational model framework of the “listening brain”. The framework will be used to investigate the ability of the auditory system to extract meaningful auditory objects such as speech or music, from a mixture of sound waves. The research is organized into three different themes that focus on 1) representations of individual hearing loss using a computational modeling approach 2) a cognitive and task-dependent model of auditory processing and perception in natural acoustic environments and 3) model-based compensation of hearing loss using a sound synthesis-analysis framework and natural sounds.
