Lars Emil Haslund, Postdoc
Lars Emil Haslund received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Lyngby, Denmark, in 2020 and 2024, respectively. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Fast Ultrasound Imaging, Department of Health Technologies, DTU.
Both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects focused on imaging the carotid arteries. The Ph.D. project specifically involved developing an algorithm for estimating local differences in pressure using non-invasive synthetic aperture ultrasound. In contrast to invasive techniques, ultrasound imaging is risk-free and preserves the natural flow, addressing a common limitation associated with invasive devices that occupy space within the lumen of the blood vessel.
Currently, a large clinical study is being conducted to investigate the impact of age, sex, and atherosclerosis on local estimation of pressure differences in the carotid artery.
